When Tim and I were planning my trip to Korea, one of the only things I really wanted to see was a palace. I had read about the elaborate details and history of the palaces. I couldn't wait to see one with my own eyes. We were able to visit Gyeongbokgung Palace or the "Northern Palace" (because of its location). Gyeongbokgung Palace was built in 1395 and has expansive and beautiful grounds.
It also houses the National Palace Museum of Korea and the National Folk Museum within the premises of the complex. So there was lots to see. I think we spent a few hours here, but it easily could've been a full day!
The palace was built in the Joseon dynasty and later destroyed by the Japanese. It has since been restored to its original condition. I think the pictures are worth so much more than I could ever write! I would highly recommend stopping by!
